A glimpse behind the curtain when two icons of music
found common ground in a secret meeting.

Royalty at the Park is a live action short film slated to film in 2024.

Inspired by True Events.

What happens when two icons of music, often pitted against each other, hold a private meeting?
Throughout their lives, Michael Jackson and Prince had several run-ins since the late 70s.
Some, more infamous than others.
Others, shrouded in secrecy.

In the spring of 1988, following three sold-out nights in Minneapolis, Prince invited Michael Jackson to his Paisley Park compound.
This private meeting between two entertainment juggernauts is where an earnest friendship truly began -  away from the press, hangers-on, and managers. The birthing of a mutual respect continued until Michael's passing in 2009.

Royalty At The Park takes us behind the doors of this fateful evening that people barely know about.

A Fictionalized Retelling

Royalty at the Park draws inspiration from two poignant films that celebrate and take a fictionalized look at icons during pivotal nights in their lifetime.

“Two of Us” showcases a fateful day in 1976 when Paul McCartney and John Lenon rekindled their strained relationship away from the blinding glare of the spotlight.

“One Night in Miami” gives audiences a glimpse into the private conversations and thriving friendships of Malcolm X, Jim Brown, Sam Cooke, and Muhammad Ali on one eventful night at the height of the civil rights movement.

Both of these films were the seeds that sparked the idea behind Royalty at the Park.
